Sing a song of sixpence

Two songs that are very meaningful for me at the moment:

Oh Love That Will Not Let Me Go

O Love that will not let me go,
I rest my weary soul in thee;
I give thee back the life I owe,
That in thine ocean depths its flow
May richer, fuller be.

O Joy that seekest me through pain,
I cannot close my heart to thee;
I trace the rainbow through the rain,
And feel the promise is not vain,
That morn shall tearless be.

O Cross that liftest up my head,
I dare not ask to fly from thee;
I lay in dust life’s glory dead,
And from the ground there blossoms red
Life that shall endless be.

Brilliant. I kind of think, why bother to write songs after that one has been written. It’s so perfect.

The other song is by a band called Bon Iver.

It’s a good song but the line that gets me is this:

Come on skinny love, just last the year.

I am so into that lyric. I completely feel like my love has been worn thin, my love for God, my love for life, my love for myself…and I find myself saying,

Come on skinny love! Just last the year!

That’s where I’m at.

That is not actually a bad place to be and it is a great line to express your feelings with! In the Psalms it says, "He hears the cry of the desolate" yes or come on skinny love just last the year! I love it. You go girl xx
